It's Friday at the start of the new school year.  After two full days of school, it's nice to have a weekend.  I'm still feeling sad and nervous about having four sections of juniors and only two sections of advanced freshmen, but I'm trying to set a positive tone and create high expectations.  I just hope that the juniors will meet the challenge and enjoy the class, and I hope I don't forget about the freshmen.  I do miss my students from last year, and I'm looking forward to teaching sophomores next semester.

On the positive side, I'm glad to be back in the routine of teaching, and I also am so glad to have my own classroom AND a window.

Having my brother living with me and going to school here is a different experience.  I already feel a lot more of an understanding about the parent perspective in regard to school.

I really hope it's a good semester.  And now time to get ready for a watermelon feed.

England 2015

I'm starting a new adventure in teaching: taking a group of high schoolers abroad.  We are going to England. I recently returned from my training tour in London and feel very prepared and excited.  Below are my nerdy literature-related photos from the training tour.
